For those who follow basketball or in precise basketball shoes, trainers or kicks; there’s a new shoe coming out – ‘Run The One’. Thanks to an inside look from Nike Basketball, we know that the design is a collaborative effort including the work of Nike Basketball Footwear Design Director Leo Chang and new Nike Basketball designer Tony Hardman. And per Nike, ‘the Nike Zoom Run The One is a complete shoe, ideal for point guards who rely on quick acceleration and rapid changes in direction. The shoe’s name derives from the point guard position, known as the ’1′ position and ‘running the one.’
‘We designed the Run The One for the skillset of dynamic guards,’ Hardman says via Nike. ‘As we observe the DNA of traditional point guards evolve, we evolve the modern basketball shoe — and it no longer has to be a bulky high-top.’
James Harden likes the shoe for its low cut with Nike Flywire technology for support and multidirectional traction thanks to the outsole pattern. Plus, the sock-like fit makes for a smooth ride.
The lightweight Run The One launches on November 15, in a limited-edition red/volt colorway the Harden debuted in Houston’s opening night win. Have a look at the images and let us know what you think…
